RYAN SEACREST JOINS THE B93.7 STAFF!
Ryan Seacrest

With his successful broadcasting career, it's no wonder why he was recently awarded a prestigious star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and why he was voted as one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful,” as well as one of their 2005 “Most Eligible Bachelors.” With Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) becoming a known entity producing and hosting multiple television and radio specials, his many restaurant investments, as well as the launch of the R Line, Seacrest is redefining what it means to be an entrepreneur and a triple threat in Hollywood.

Seacrest's latest development in his booming career came when he recently signed onto a long term deal to executive produce and join Dick Clark co-hosting the 34 th edition of “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve,” live from Times Square in New York on December 31st airing on the ABC Television Network. Seacrest will move over to ABC in a multi-year deal to occupy the co-host post and eventually take over as sole host when Dick decides to step down. The show traditionally out-rates all of the other network competitive programming combined and for many years has been the highest rated entertainment program for the entire week surrounding New Year's.

Seacrest has just begun his fifth season as host of FOX 's #1 hit show, "American Idol." Last year he helped FOX enjoy its highest ratings share for the fourth season in a row. Seacrest has single-handedly changed the face of "American Idol" making him a household name. With "American Idol," his radio shows On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40, as well as his many specials and award shows throughout the year, he is able to reach millions of American eyes and ears.

Seacrest took over for Casey Kasem counting down American Top 40 every week on the nations top radio stations. American Top 40 is an institution in the radio world, and with Seacrest taking the reigns; it is broadcast on more stations in larger markets than ever before. Since Seacrest's debut, American Top 40 has more than doubled its listeners topping out at a record breaking 3.1 million listeners per show. Radio stations nationwide are able to access the show via satellite or the Internet, insuring the most up to the minute music chart information. Seacrest will expand this brand into his very own "American Top 40 Live" which will have its TV debut live from Los Angeles on April 24th. Seacrest Productions will executive produce the show that will include this years top stars in music with artists such as Usher, Maroon 5, Nelly and many more.

Seacrest also took over the most coveted radio position in Los Angeles on its Top 40 radio powerhouse 102.7 KIIS-FM morning show. Since the new Seacrest morning show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest premiered on February 26th, 2004 over 1 million people tune in each week to wake up with Seacrest and the show has become the #1 most listened to morning show in Los Angeles. The fan favorite broadcasts daily from 5:00-10:00 AM.

No stranger to New Year's Seacrest returned last January for his third time as host and first time as executive producer of "New Year's Eve: Live From Times Square With Ryan Seacrest." Seacrest took the party to the Big Apple interviewing celebrities and musical acts from one of the hottest parties in Times Square, as well as reviewing the nation's favorite songs from " America 's Top 40."

Seacrest's other hosting credits also include "The Billboard Awards," "Radio Music Awards," "EXTRA Weekends," E!'s "Talk Soup," NBC Saturday Night Movie series, "The New Edge" for the Sci-Fi channel, ESPN, and "An Evening at the Academy Awards." This year, Seacrest serves as a correspondent for "The Tonight Show." In addition to his hosting credits, he recently signed a deal with Cingular Wireless to brand the world of text messaging. Seacrest played a huge role in bringing this medium to people's attention during the second season of "American Idol."

Seacrest's entrepreneur endeavors under the Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) umbrella include part ownership in many LA and Las Vegas hot spots. Currently Seacrest is a part owner at Katana, Sushi Roku and Boa. The R Line is a clothing venture with JEM sportswear that will be out this summer. He received a lot of feedback and attention for wearing shirts by his own design on “American Idol.” The response was so immense, that it was a natural progression for him to expand and develop a clothing line so that the masses could experience his cool, relaxed, and stylish fashion sense.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan's professional career in broadcasting began at the age of 16 when he applied for an internship at one of Atlanta 's top radio stations, WSTR/ STAR 94. Impressed by his talent, the station offered him the nighttime slot ( 7 p.m. to midnight ), making the show one of the station's highest rated. He then went onto Los Angeles' top rated KYSR/ STAR 98.7 where he had a successful 6-year stint of hosting the highest rated drive-time radio show Ryan Seacrest for the Ride Home with Lisa Foxx.

While working at STAR 94 in Atlanta , Seacrest finished high school and went on to attend the University of Georgia where he majored in Journalism. During his freshman year in college, Seacrest was offered his first television show as the host of ESPN's "Radical Outdoor Challenge," in which athletes competed against one another for cash prizes.

Seacrest currently resides in Los Angeles .  Welcome to B93.7 RYAN!!!!
